Shiny and golden in color. Wonderful floral notes fill the glass with hints of ripe pear and a nice lemon aroma. The mouth-feel is fresh and vibrant, but also has a subtle ripeness mid-palate. The finish is beautiful with classic slate, minerality, fine creamy lees notes, and lovely acidity. The wine is bright and balanced from start to finish.
The first six months of the 2016 growing season were amongst the driest in recorded history, resulting in wonderful ripe, lush fruit, full of aromas and ideal to make an elegant Trebbiano. October was rainy, but the fruit was picked perfectly healthy and in great condition. Early in the season, we removed 100% of the leaves around the fruit zone, ensuring that every cluster was exposed to sunlight and ripened very well. We hand-harvested the perfectly clean and healthy ripe grapes on October 26. They were softly pressed, the juice chilled to 50°F, then well-settled and cool-fermented at 65°F in stainless steel for 16 days to dryness. The young wine was racked and then aged on the fine lees for 4.5 months. Malolactic fermentation was completely avoided to retain the wine's vibrancy and fruit-forwardness. After extensive blending trials, Chardonnay was added to give the wine additional balance. The wine was filtered and bottled on March 21, 2017, in screwcap closure. Only 375 cases were made.

Serve chilled. Pair this light white with chèvre or other fresh or soft-rind cheeses, with grilled or roasted fish or white meats, or even with spicy Asian dishes. Though vinaigrette-dressed salads can be hard to pair with wine, this unique white is your answer--it's a beautiful match.
