ABOUT THE WINES
Noblesse Oblige Sparkling Rosé 2014 - The color is a brilliantly shiny salmon and orange hue. The mousse is absolutely stunning, a firework of tiny bubbles. The aroma is elegant yet rich with hints of fresh strawberries, peaches, rose petals, beautiful creamy yeast and a fine toast. The mouth-feel is incredible vibrant with classic mousse and a wonderful rich mid pallet. Ripe fruit, intense acidity and creamy yeast are in a perfect lineup and the finish is long, sophisticated and bone dry - a classic Extra Brut.
Perle Chardonnay 2017 - Light gold in color. Elegant aromas fill the glass with creamy yeast, floral notes and hints of vanilla. The mouthfeel is rich and concentrated with ripe pear that plays wonderfully with the lively acidity. The mid-pallet is smooth with great layers; the finish is loaded with ripe fruit, fine tannins and classic minerality. This Chardonnay has great depth and sophistication, is a perfect food companion and has amazing aging potential. It will be a gem in 10-15 years!
Fatalis Fatum Red Blend 2015 - Dark, red brick in color. Beautiful classic gravel notes and sophisticated aromas of fine ripe cassis fruit, elegant and lush creamy lees and well-integrated toasted oak fill the glass. The mouth-feel is huge but well balanced. Wonderful fruit is wrapped by loads of velvet tannins and oak. There is a lot of depth and concentration with classic minerality on the long finish. The ripe Cabernet Sauvignon shines through this blend that is complex and nicely held together. This wine is a keeper and will unfold for many years to come.
ABOUT AMAGANSETT FOOD INSTITUTE
AFI is a 501(c)(3) non-profit membership organization comprised of farmers, food producers, and food consumers on the East End of Long Island. They understand that the well-being of our community and environment is tied to the ways we produce and distribute food. Through this understanding, they support those who cultivate the health of both, as they are the basis of our sustenance. They believe that the work of providing food to the community should be valued, and that this should be reflected in fair prices. Through education, collaboration, and promotion we hope to create an understanding between producers and consumers that upholds our vision. We strive to ensure that consumers enjoy healthy, local food, and that local producers are supported in a thriving regional food system.
We at Wolffer support AFI's mission and work closely with them to amplify their message. Many of the menu items at Wolffer Estate Vineyard are purchased from members of the South Fork Kitchen, on-site events are hosted in collaboration with AFI, and we reguarly support and integrate the organization in to any projects we can.
